Easter Race Meet
Beautiful weather welcomed in Nanango Race Club’s Easter Meeting . The Crow FM sponsored day was one of the best Easter meetings. The Ladies , Gents and Children outdid themselves in the Moffatdale Ridge Wines Fashion on the Field with many entering into the fun with the Rock and Roll theme.
All the children were presented with an Easter egg . Kelly the face painter had children lined up to ensure that they had their favorite colors and glitter. The jumping castle, water ducks, ice creams and donuts combined to make it their fun day.
And what a day for the ladies, lots of prizes for the fashion conscious and spot prizes for those who were a bit shy to walk the carpet. The Nanango Race Club is supporting the National Film and Sound Archive film festival on the 19th May and they donated 2 free tickets for the opening night. There were also prizes for those unlucky punters who put their loosing tickets in the box for another chance to win.
The stars of any race meeting would have to be the horses, and Nanango seems to attract the best in the South Burnett, so it was a great day for the racing enthusiast. Lady Oscar won the McDonald’s Kingaroy QTIS Class 1 ridden by up and coming apprentice jockey Melody O’Brien. It would be fitting if Lady Oscar were to be at the next meeting when the prize money jumps to $8000 minimum.
19th May, 2012 - The next meeting will have “Dress to Impress” as its theme, so we expect the fashions to be really spectacular. Once the racing is over follow up with the NFSA showing of “The Cup” at the Cultural Centre Nanango. One of the stars in the movie will be the special guest for the evening .
See you at the Races…………
